West was the first school in Alaska to be invited by the American High School Theatre Festival to attend the Fringe in 2007. Since then, West Anchorage High School has been selected two more times for this honor. In 2007, West brought “Moby Dick the Musical” to Edinburgh. This summer the award winning theatre program will hit the stage with “Seussical the Musical Jr.,” a lively family musical based on Dr. Seuss’s “Cat in the Hat” and “Horton Hears a Who.”

Seventeen students have been selected from West High to travel to Scotland where they will perform four times in front of an international audience. The trip, which will include visits to Stratford-Upon-Avon and London, will cost the group over $130,000.00 which they are raising through a variety of fund raising techniques.
